Václav Jemelka
Václav Jemelka is a Czech defender born in Olomouc on 23 June 1995. He developed at SK Uničov before joining SK Sigma Olomouc, where he progressed through the academy and B team. Promoted to Sigma’s senior squad ahead of the 2016–17 season, he helped the club win the Czech second tier in 2017. Jemelka made his top-flight debut against Mladá Boleslav on 30 July 2017 and established himself in Olomouc’s defence. In 2020, he moved to Belgian side OH Leuven on loan, making 22 appearances before returning to Czech football. His form earned him a senior Czech Republic debut against Germany on 11 November 2020. In August 2022, Jemelka joined Viktoria Plzeň, where the centre-back can also operate at left-back and has competed in European competition.
