Virgil Gomis
Virgil Gomis is an English defender born on 16 April 1999 in Limay, France. He developed at ALJ Limay and FC Mantois before moving to Nottingham Forest’s academy in 2015. Gomis remained with Forest through 2021, spending senior-development loan spells with Braintree Town, Notts County, Macclesfield Town and Grimsby Town. At Macclesfield, he scored twice in cup competitions, including an EFL Cup equaliser against Blackpool, while making no first-team appearance for Forest. After leaving England, he returned to France with Paris II and later played for Pouzauges Bocage, where he scored nine goals in ten matches. In July 2025, Gomis joined Pontivy GSI, continuing his career in the French lower divisions. Standing 1.90 metres tall, he has developed through football in both England and France.
