Vladan Giljen

Vladan Giljen is a Montenegrin goalkeeper born in Nikšić on 7 December 1989. He developed at Sutjeska and progressed into the senior side during the early years of Montenegro’s First League, while also representing Montenegro at under-19 and under-21 level. In 2010, Giljen moved to Portugal’s Nacional, making his Primeira Liga debut in a 2–0 win over Paços de Ferreira on 2 February 2012. He later played for OFK Beograd, Čelik Nikšić and Albania’s Kastrioti before returning to Sutjeska in January 2016. Back in Nikšić, he became a long-serving first-choice goalkeeper and helped Sutjeska win league titles in 2017–18 and 2022–23, as well as two Montenegrin Cups. In a 2019 Champions League qualifying tie against Slovan Bratislava, he saved two penalties in the shoot-out after a 1–1 draw. Giljen remains associated with Sutjeska, combining penalty-stop experience with the command expected of a veteran goalkeeper.
