Valentín Mariano José Castellanos Giménez
Valentín Mariano José Castellanos Giménez is an Argentine forward from Mendoza. He developed in Universidad de Chile’s youth system and made his professional debut there before moving to Montevideo City Torque in 2017. Castellanos helped Torque win Uruguay’s Segunda División and earn promotion. In 2018, he joined New York City FC on loan, later establishing himself as a central striker after initially playing in wider attacking roles. His breakthrough came in 2021, when he won the MLS Golden Boot with 19 regular-season goals and helped NYCFC win the MLS Cup. Castellanos moved to Girona for the 2022–23 season and scored four times against Real Madrid in a La Liga match, finishing the campaign with 13 league goals. He joined Lazio in 2023 and is now listed with West Ham.
