Unai Gómez Etxebarria

Unai Gómez Etxebarria is a Spanish attacking midfielder born in Bermeo on 25 May 2003. He began at hometown side Bermeo FT before joining Athletic Club’s youth system in 2013. After moving to Danok Bat CF in 2016, he returned to Lezama in 2019 and continued his development. Gómez played for Basconia in 2021–22, making 31 appearances and scoring five goals, before stepping up to Bilbao Athletic in 2022–23. With the reserves, he made 35 appearances and scored twice. Athletic Club handed him his La Liga debut against Real Madrid on 12 August 2023, following a strong pre-season. Gómez scored his first professional goal against Real Betis and later struck a stoppage-time winner against UD Las Palmas, while also belonging to Athletic’s 2023–24 Copa del Rey-winning squad; he is currently listed with Udinese.
