Taras Wiktorowycz Romanczuk
Taras Wiktorowycz Romanczuk is a Polish defensive midfielder born in Kowel, Ukraine, on 14 November 1991. He developed in the Volyn region, including MFK Kovel-Volyn, BRW-VIK Volodymyr-Volynskyi and MFK Kovel, before playing futsal for Apperkot Kovel from 2010 to 2013. In February 2013, Romanczuk moved to Poland and joined fourth-tier Legionovia Legionowo, beginning a rapid rise into senior football. Jagiellonia Białystok signed him in July 2014, and he made his Ekstraklasa debut against Legia Warsaw the following month. He became a key defensive presence and club vice-captain, reaching 300 Ekstraklasa appearances for Jagiellonia in April 2024 before captaining the side to its first league title that May. After receiving Polish citizenship in 2018, Romanczuk debuted for Poland that March, returned to the squad in 2024, and was selected for Euro 2024; he scored against Ukraine in a June friendly.
