Takuma Ominami

Takuma Ominami is a Japanese centre-back who can also operate at right-back. Born in Aichi on 13 December 1997, he developed through Aichi FC and Nagoya FC before attending Kagoshima Jitsugyo High School. Ominami began his senior career with Júbilo Iwata in 2016, progressing into the first team and establishing himself in J1 by 2019. He moved to Kashiwa Reysol in 2020, where his mobility and positional flexibility saw him used as both a central defender and a right-back. At Kawasaki Frontale, whom he joined in 2023, he continued to contribute to a possession-oriented defence and build-up. Internationally, Ominami represented Japan at under-22 and under-23 level, helping the latter win silver at the 2018 Asian Games. He made his senior debut at the 2022 EAFF E-1 Football Championship, which Japan won, before moving to Belgian side OH Leuven on loan in July 2024 and scoring his first European goal.
