Tyler Scott Morton

Tyler Scott Morton is an English defensive midfielder born in Wallasey on October 31, 2002. He began with Greenleas FC before joining Liverpool’s academy at seven and progressing through Liverpool U21 and Liverpool U23. Morton helped Liverpool reach the 2021 FA Youth Cup final before making his senior debut against Norwich City in the EFL Cup that September. He later appeared in the Premier League against Arsenal and in the Champions League against Porto during the 2021–22 season. A loan spell with Blackburn gave him valuable senior experience, while his subsequent development strengthened his ability to protect the defence and circulate possession. Morton joined Lyon permanently in August 2025 and has continued his career in Ligue 1. Internationally, he helped England win the 2025 European Under-21 Championship, providing the extra-time assist in the final.
