Thomas Korsgaard Mikkelsen

Thomas Korsgaard Mikkelsen is a Danish goalkeeper born in Odense on 27 August 1983. After developing at Odense Boldklub, he gained senior experience with B 1909, FC Fyn and Næsby during his early career. In 2009, Mikkelsen joined FC Vestsjælland and helped the club reach the Danish Superliga, completing the promotion campaign with a 0–0 draw against Hobro IK in May 2013. His top-flight debut came against Brøndby IF in July 2013, and he remained with Vestsjælland until its collapse in 2015. He then started for FC Fredericia, returned to OB as a reserve, and later joined Lyngby Boldklub, being part of their promotion to the Superliga in 2019. In 2021, Mikkelsen signed for Brøndby IF, primarily providing experienced cover before starting during the 2023–24 season and earning Man of the Match in a 2–1 victory over Silkeborg. Standing 1.90m, he is a traditional goalkeeper who relies on shot-stopping, area command and accurate long distribution rather than frequent sweeper actions.
