Takefusa Kubo

Takefusa Kubo is a Japanese forward who operates primarily as a left-footed right winger. Born in Kawasaki in 2001, he developed at Barcelona’s La Masia before returning to Japan in 2015 after a FIFA ruling affected his eligibility. He joined FC Tokyo and became the J.League’s youngest goalscorer at 15. In 2019, Kubo moved to Real Madrid, though he did not make a senior competitive appearance for the club. Loan spells at Mallorca, Villarreal and Getafe gave him experience in Spain, with two periods at Mallorca providing his La Liga platform. Kubo joined Real Sociedad permanently in 2022 and established himself as a creative outlet who also contributes to pressing and defensive work. He remains involved with Japan and is listed with both the national team and Real Sociedad.
