Thomas Hasal

Thomas Hasal is a Canadian goalkeeper born in Cambridge, Ontario, on July 9, 1999. He began his development with the Vancouver Whitecaps’ Saskatchewan Academy Centre in 2013 before moving to the club’s Residency Academy in 2016. Hasal signed a homegrown contract with Vancouver in March 2019 and made his breakthrough during the 2020 MLS is Back Tournament, replacing injured starter Maxime Crépeau. Against Sporting Kansas City, he made eight saves in a 0–0 draw and received Man of the Match honors, although Vancouver lost the ensuing shootout. His emergence was interrupted by a fractured tibia and concussion later that year. Hasal joined Los Angeles FC as a free agent in June 2024, adding depth to the MLS club’s goalkeeping group. Internationally, he started every minute for Canada’s under-20 team at the 2017 CONCACAF Championship and received a senior call-up in 2022 without making his senior debut.
