Tom Gaal
Tom Gaal is a German defender born in Mönchengladbach on 3 March 2001. He began his development at SC Hardt before joining Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2010, where he progressed through the academy and U19 setup. After moving to VfL Wolfsburg II in 2020, he returned to Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2021 and played for the reserve side, while also being included in a Bundesliga first-team squad without making a league debut. In June 2023, Gaal joined SSV Ulm 1846 on a free transfer and helped the club win the 3. Liga title and secure promotion to the 2. Bundesliga in 2023–24. Standing 1.93 metres tall, Tom Gaal operates primarily at centre-back, with his size supporting aerial defending and his profile allowing a role in build-up play. He joined FC St. Gallen in 2025, continuing his senior career in Switzerland.
