Thibault De Smet

Thibault De Smet is a Belgian defender, born in Brugge on 5 June 1998, who has developed primarily as a left-back. He began playing at KSK Maldegem before joining Club Brugge’s youth system in 2006 and moving to Gent in 2012. De Smet made his professional debut for Gent in December 2016, then sought regular senior football with Sint-Truiden during the 2019–20 season. In 2020, he moved to Reims, beginning a five-year spell in French football. At Reims, De Smet became a regular presence and recorded 27 league appearances in the 2023–24 campaign. He joined Paris FC in 2025 and continued his career in the capital, offering experience on the left side of defence. His profile combines defensive work with overlapping support and forward passing from the flank.
