Thiago Ezequiel Almada

Thiago Ezequiel Almada is an Argentine attacking midfielder who operates centrally or from wide areas. Born in Ciudadela on 26 April 2001, he developed at Vélez Sarsfield, joining the club’s academy as a child before making his professional debut in 2018. At Vélez, Almada progressed from a wing-forward into a creative central player, using close control and quick passing to advance attacks. He moved to Atlanta United in 2022, where his dribbling, vision and set-piece delivery made him a prominent attacking outlet. In 2022, he won MLS Newcomer of the Year. Almada joined Botafogo in 2024 and helped the Brazilian club win both the Copa Libertadores and Série A that season. He subsequently spent a period with Lyon, continuing his progression toward European football. For Argentina, Almada was part of the squad that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup, adding senior international experience to his career.
