Sunday Ayonfe Akinbule

Sunday Ayonfe Akinbule is a Nigerian forward who developed from Lagos into a career spanning several football countries. Born in Lagos on 27 October 1996, he came through Gateway United before moving to Europe as a teenager. He began his European career with SC Farense in Portugal in 2016, then continued with Sertanense and Felgueiras. His route later took him to Hapoel Ra'anana in Israel, Al-Washm in Saudi Arabia and Shakhter Soligorsk in Belarus. Akinbule also spent time in Malta, including a 2021–22 loan at Mosta, where he established himself as a physical attacking option. He subsequently represented Marsaxlokk and FC Prishtina, extending a mobile club career across Europe. Standing 1.90 metres, Sunday Akinbule offers a physically imposing presence as a centre-forward, with his game associated with hold-up play and penalty-box positioning. He is currently linked with Hibernians.
