Aurísio Saliu Fernandes Embalo Júnior

Simão Júnior, whose full name is Aurísio Saliu Fernandes Embalo Júnior, is a defender born in Cacém, Portugal, on 29 August 1998. He is Portuguese-born and represents Guinea-Bissau internationally. His early professional path included Cova da Piedade, where he was reported to have secured a place in the main squad in September 2020. In February 2025, he moved to Lithuania to join Banga, competing in the country’s A Lyga. At 190 centimetres, Simão Júnior brings a substantial physical presence to the defensive line. His role is centred on defending as a central defender, contesting aerial situations and helping protect the penalty area. He has also been called up to and played for Guinea-Bissau, extending his career from Portuguese football into international competition.
