Sergio Herrera Pirón

Sergio Herrera Pirón is a Spanish football goalkeeper born in Miranda de Ebro on 5 June 1993. He developed in the Deportivo Alavés youth system and made his first-team debut against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey in November 2012. Herrera then gained regular experience with CD Laudio and SD Amorebieta in Spain’s third tier. In 2016, he joined SD Huesca in the Segunda División, quickly establishing himself as a starter, keeping a clean sheet on his professional debut and helping the club reach the promotion play-offs. Osasuna signed Herrera in July 2017, and after overcoming a serious knee injury, he returned to become an important goalkeeper as the club moved back into the top flight. At 1.92 metres, he combines reflex saves with proactive work outside his area, aerial claims and long distribution. He remains with Osasuna, earning the La Liga Save of the Month award in January 2025 for a stop against Rayo Vallecano.
