Sergio Gómez Martín

Sergio Gómez Martín was born in Badalona on 4 September 2000 and is a left-back who can also operate in advanced roles. He developed at Trajana, Badalona and Espanyol before joining Barcelona’s La Masia in 2010, progressing through its youth ranks and debuting for Barcelona B in January 2018. Gómez then moved to Borussia Dortmund, where he played mainly for youth and reserve sides. A two-year loan at Huesca from 2019 to 2021 gave him senior experience and included promotion to La Liga. At Anderlecht, Vincent Kompany converted him into a left-back, and Gómez became a prominent creator from the flank. He joined Manchester City in 2022, adding Premier League experience while competing for a place in a strong squad. In 2024, Sergio Gómez moved to Real Sociedad, where he continues to provide left-footed width, delivery and positional versatility. He has also represented Spain at under-23 level.
