Santiago Comesaña Veiga

Santi Comesaña, whose full name is Santiago Comesaña Veiga, is a Spanish midfielder born in Vigo on 5 October 1996. He developed in the youth ranks of ED Val Miñor before entering senior football with Coruxo FC in 2015. At Coruxo, Comesaña made an early impact as an attacking midfielder, scoring eight goals in 37 appearances, including a hat-trick against SD Compostela. Rayo Vallecano signed him in 2016, beginning a seven-year spell in which he became a regular in midfield. He helped Rayo win the 2017–18 Segunda División title and made his La Liga debut against Atlético Madrid in August 2018. Comesaña left Rayo and joined Villarreal on a free transfer in 2023. At Villarreal, he has continued to operate centrally, evolving from a box-to-box midfielder into a deeper player who helps circulate possession and maintain balance.
