Saliou Ciss

Saliou Ciss is a Senegalese defender who developed at the Diambars Academy in Saly before beginning his professional career with Tromsø IL in Norway in 2010. He spent three years in Scandinavia and also featured in the Europa League. In 2013, Ciss moved to France, where he played for Valenciennes and had a spell with Angers. He later established himself with Nancy, competing in Ligue 2 and contributing from the left side in both defensive and attacking phases. Ciss represented Senegal at the 2012 Olympic Games and became part of the team that won the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, played in 2022. The triumph followed his absence from Senegal’s 2018 World Cup squad because of a training injury. In 2025, Ciss returned to competitive football with Feignies-Aulnoye, adding veteran experience to his defensive role.
