Samuel Marqus Lloyd Vines

Samuel Marqus Lloyd Vines is an American defender from Colorado Springs, born on May 31, 1999. He developed with Pride Soccer Club before entering the Colorado Rapids Academy in 2013, and he was named the academy’s 2017 Player of the Year. Vines signed a Rapids Homegrown contract in 2018, then spent time on loan with Charlotte Independence before establishing himself in Colorado. In 2020, he played every minute of the Rapids’ 18-game regular season, earned MLS 22 Under 22 recognition, and received his first senior United States call-up. That progress led to a move to Antwerp in August 2021, where he was part of the 2022–23 league-and-cup double-winning squad. Vines also represented the United States at the 2021 Gold Cup, starting five matches as the team won the title. He now continues his MLS career with Houston Dynamo.
