Sven Ulreich

Sven Ulreich is a German goalkeeper born in Schorndorf on 3 August 1988. He joined VfB Stuttgart’s youth system in 1998, progressed through the academy and helped the club win the 2005 U19 Bundesliga title. Ulreich made his senior debut against Hertha BSC in 2008 and went on to establish himself as Stuttgart’s Bundesliga goalkeeper, making more than 200 appearances for the club. In 2015, he moved to Bayern München, initially serving behind Manuel Neuer. After Neuer was injured during the 2017–18 campaign, Ulreich took on an extended starting role, made 47 appearances and helped Bayern retain the Bundesliga title. He later spent the 2020–21 season with Hamburger SV in the 2. Bundesliga before returning to Munich in 2021. Back at Bayern, Sven Ulreich has continued as an experienced reserve capable of stepping in when required, combining reflex saves with command of his penalty area and a reliable passing outlet.
