Stijn Spierings
Stijn Spierings is a Dutch defensive midfielder born in Alkmaar on 12 March 1996. He developed with Kolping Boys and AZ Alkmaar, making his professional debut for AZ during the 2014–15 season. Spierings then played for Sparta Rotterdam, helping the club win the Eerste Divisie and promotion in 2016, before continuing his progression at RKC Waalwijk and Levski Sofia. In October 2020, he joined Toulouse, where his midfield goals helped the club win Ligue 2 and promotion; he also featured in their 2023 Coupe de France triumph. Lens signed him in 2023, and he returned to Toulouse on loan for the remainder of the 2023–24 season. After a spell with Brøndby, Spierings moved to Real Salt Lake in 2026. Standing 1.88 metres tall, Stijn Spierings combines defensive coverage with deep passing, ball progression and tempo control.
