Simon Sluga

Simon Sluga is a Croatian goalkeeper born in Rijeka in 1993. He developed through youth football in Croatia before progressing to HNK Rijeka, where he established himself from 2016 to 2019. With Rijeka, Sluga helped win the 2016–17 Croatian First League title and two Croatian Cups, while also keeping a clean sheet against AC Milan in the Europa League. In 2019, he moved to Luton Town, adapting to the English Championship after arriving as the club’s record signing. His improvement was recognised when he was named Luton’s Player of the Season for 2020–21. Sluga later joined Ludogorets, where he collected three Bulgarian league titles and domestic cups during a highly successful spell. He has represented Croatia internationally and is now listed with Celje, continuing a career shaped by competition, recovery and experience.
