Sopuruchukwu Bruno Onyemaechi

Sopuruchukwu Bruno Onyemaechi is a Nigerian defender, born in Owerri on 3 April 1999, who developed from grassroots football into the European professional game. He joined CD Feirense in Portugal in 2018 and progressed through the club’s under-23 setup before making senior appearances. A loan at Vila Real during the 2020–22 period provided first-team experience, after which he moved to Boavista in 2022. Onyemaechi established himself primarily as a left-back at Boavista, contributing defensive strength, aerial ability and recovery work while also covering at centre-back and left midfield. Olympiakos Piraeus signed him in January 2025, and he made an early start in the Greek Cup against AEK Athens. With Olympiakos Piraeus, Onyemaechi helped win the Greek league and cup double in the club’s centenary season, while also representing Nigeria internationally after making his debut in September 2023.
