Sikou Niakaté
Sikou Niakaté is a defender born in Montreuil, France, on July 10, 1999. He developed in the Paris region, spending time with Saint Germain en Laye, Paris Saint-Germain, AC de Boulogne-Billancourt and Évreux FC 27 before progressing into senior football. Niakaté made his professional breakthrough with Valenciennes, debuting in Ligue 2 in 2017. His performances earned a move to Guingamp in 2018, where he continued his development in France's top two divisions. A season-long loan at Metz in 2021–22 gave him Ligue 1 experience. Niakaté then moved to SC Braga on loan in 2022, and the Portuguese club subsequently made the transfer permanent in 2023. At Braga, he established himself as a centre-back involved in domestic competition and European football. He made his Mali debut in 2023, helping the national side in a win over South Sudan and featuring at the Africa Cup of Nations.
