Simon William Moore
Simon William Moore is an English goalkeeper born in Sandown on 19 May 1990. He began at Brading Town, spent time in Southampton’s academy, and later played for Farnborough before joining Brentford on trial in 2009. At Brentford, Moore initially understudied Wojciech Szczęsny and made his senior debut as a substitute in May 2010. He became a regular during the 2012–13 campaign, helping Brentford reach the League One play-off final and draw 2–2 with Chelsea in the FA Cup. Moore moved to Cardiff City in 2013, had a loan spell with Bristol City, and joined Sheffield United in 2016. He made 45 appearances and kept 17 clean sheets as Sheffield United won League One in 2016–17, also earning selection in the PFA League One Team of the Year. After later serving as a Premier League squad goalkeeper, he joined Coventry City in 2021 and Sunderland in June 2024.
