Stefan Mitrović

Stefan Mitrović is a Serbian centre-back from Belgrade, born 22 May 1990, standing 1.89 metres tall. His frame has supported an emphasis on aerial defending and physical duels. He developed in Serbian football before moving abroad and establishing himself at Kortrijk in Belgium. His subsequent European path included Gent, Valladolid, SC Freiburg and Strasbourg, giving him experience in Belgium, Spain, Germany and France. With Strasbourg, Mitrović helped win the Coupe de la Ligue in 2018–19, a major club achievement in his career. He later joined Getafe, where his defensive organisation and physical presence suited a demanding La Liga role. Mitrović also represented Serbia and became widely recognised after removing a drone from the pitch during the 2014 qualifier against Albania in Belgrade. He has since returned to Serbia with Partizan, adding experience to the club’s centre-back options.
