Scott Francis McTominay

Scott Francis McTominay is a right-footed defensive midfielder from Lancaster, England. He joined Manchester United’s academy at age five and progressed through the club’s youth system, although development-related injuries restricted his involvement during the 2014–15 season. McTominay made his senior debut under José Mourinho in May 2017, establishing himself at Old Trafford through his ability to screen the defence and compete in midfield. He also produced decisive attacking moments, including two goals in the opening three minutes against Leeds United in 2020. After representing Scotland internationally, McTominay moved to Napoli in August 2024. In Italy, Antonio Conte used him in a more advanced midfield role, where his physical presence and late runs supported the attack. He scored 12 league goals in his debut Serie A season, won the league’s MVP award and helped Napoli secure its fourth Scudetto.
