Sean Desmond Klaiber

Sean Desmond Klaiber is a right-back born in Nieuwegein who represents Suriname. He developed at VVIJ, JSV Nieuwegein and SV Geinoord, spent a season in Ajax’s youth academy, and joined FC Utrecht in 2007. Klaiber made his professional debut for Utrecht in 2013, then gained first-team experience during a 2015 loan to FC Dordrecht. Returning to Utrecht, he established himself as a regular right-back before transferring to Ajax in October 2020. He won the Eredivisie in 2020–21 and 2021–22 and the KNVB Cup in 2021, although a cruciate ligament injury in training interrupted his Ajax spell. Klaiber returned to Utrecht in 2022 and joined Brondby in 2023. He later scored Brondby’s stoppage-time winner against FC Copenhagen in April 2024, while his international career progressed from Netherlands youth teams to a Suriname debut at the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
