Saidy Janko
Saidy Janko is a Gambian right-back born in Zürich, Switzerland, on 22 October 1995. He developed at FC Zürich before joining Manchester United in 2013, where he won the Denzil Haroun Reserve Player of the Year award in 2014. Janko made his senior United debut against MK Dons in the League Cup in August 2014 and later moved to Bolton Wanderers on loan. In 2015, he joined Celtic, winning two Premiership titles before continuing his career with Saint-Étienne and FC Porto. Porto sent him on loan to Nottingham Forest, Real Valladolid and VfL Bochum, giving him experience in England, Spain and Germany. Janko represented Switzerland through under-21 level before switching to Gambia in 2021 and featuring in the squad that reached the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals. He played for Young Boys on loan in 2019–20 and returned permanently in 2023.
