Sverrir Ingi Ingason

Sverrir Ingi Ingason is an Icelandic centre-back born in Kópavogur on 5 August 1993. He developed at Breidablik and began his senior career there before moving abroad. Ingason joined Lokeren in 2015, then played for Granada in La Liga in 2017. He moved to PAOK in 2019, establishing himself as a central defender and winning a league title and two cups during his four-year spell. In 2023, he joined FC Midtjylland and helped the Danish club win the 2023–24 Superliga title before returning to Greece with Panathinaikos in 2024. For Iceland, Ingason captained the under-21 side at the 2015 European Championship and was part of the senior team that reached Euro 2016’s quarter-finals and the 2018 World Cup. At 1.88 metres, Sverrir Ingi Ingason brings aerial strength, blocking and concentration to the centre of defence, while his long passing supports build-up play.
