Samuel Yves Oum Gouet

Samuel Yves Oum Gouet is a Cameroonian defensive midfielder born in Ayos on 14 December 1997. He developed with APEJES de Mfou and was part of the squad that won the Cameroonian Cup in 2016. Gouet moved to Austria with SCR Altach, spending four seasons there and establishing himself in the Bundesliga. In 2021, he joined Belgian club KV Mechelen, where he played 31 league matches in his first season. He later continued his career with Yverdon Sport in Switzerland and Poli Iași in Romania before joining Lithuania’s Hegelmann. At international level, Gouet made his senior Cameroon debut in 2016 and represented the Indomitable Lions at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, where they finished third, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup. A right-footed player standing 1.85 metres tall, Samuel Yves Oum Gouet offers midfield protection, composed distribution and the physicality to cover defensive spaces.
