Sadik Fofana

Sadik Fofana is a Togolese midfielder born in Aachen, Germany, on 16 May 2003. He developed in Germany before joining Bayer Leverkusen’s academy in 2020, where he progressed through the youth setup and trained with the first team. Fofana made his senior breakthrough on loan at 1. FC Nürnberg in the 2022–23 season, playing in the 2. Bundesliga and featuring primarily as a central defender. The 1.92-metre player’s early career therefore reflected a gradual shift between defensive and midfield roles. At international level, he represented Germany at under-20 level before switching allegiance to Togo. He made his Togo senior debut against Niger on 22 March 2024, in a 2–1 victory. Fofana is currently registered with Lecce, where his size and defensive discipline offer cover in midfield and at the back.
