Shaun Dimech
Shaun Dimech is a Maltese midfielder who developed in Valletta FC’s youth system, with a brief spell at Pietà Hotspurs before returning to Valletta. He made his Maltese Premier League debut during the 2016–17 season at age 15, beginning a senior career that brought more than 100 appearances and 21 goals for Valletta. Dimech gained European experience in Champions League and Europa League qualifying during the 2019–20 campaign. In 2022–23, he scored five league goals in 24 matches and received the MFPA Best Young Player award. At international level, Dimech debuted for Malta in a friendly against Gibraltar on 7 October 2020. He has also featured in World Cup and European Championship qualifying, while operating mainly as a central or attacking midfielder. His versatility has included deeper midfield duties and occasional wide deployment, and he is listed with Birzebbuga.
