Stefan Daniel Cleveland

Stefan Daniel Cleveland is an American goalkeeper from Dayton, Ohio. He developed at Miami Valley School and Blast FC before attending Dartmouth, where he earned a mechanical-engineering degree and was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year in 2015. Cleveland spent a graduate year at Louisville, starting all 22 matches and recording 10 shutouts, before Chicago Fire selected him 26th overall in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. His early professional development included USL spells with Tulsa Roughnecks and Lansing Ignite, where he kept seven clean sheets in 22 matches. After joining Seattle Sounders in late 2019, he stepped into the starting lineup during Stefan Frei’s 2021 injury and helped Seattle record three shutouts in 15 matches. He was part of Seattle’s squad for the 2022 CONCACAF Champions Cup triumph before moving to Austin FC as a free agent in 2024. With Austin, Cleveland saved a 94th-minute penalty against Pumas UNAM in the 2024 Leagues Cup and later joined Sporting Kansas City for the 2026 season.
