Santiago Thomas Castro
Santiago Thomas Castro, Bologna's main forward, attacks space and pins centre-backs with his runs beyond the line. Castro broke through with Vélez Sarsfield's first-team debut in August 2021, then joined Bologna in January 2024. He thrives running in behind defences. At Bologna, Castro established himself as a key starter in Serie A and the Europa League, scoring his first Serie A goal in May 2024 and providing an assist against Juventus. A March 2025 Argentina call-up to the senior squad shortlist marked a turning point in his international exposure. Castro operates mainly as a Centre-Forward (9) but can drift to the left, linking play with one-touch layoffs and pressing high to win the ball. Castro finishes moves and gets shots off quickly for Bologna.
