Ştefan Burghiu

Ştefan Burghiu is a Moldovan defender born on March 28, 1991. He developed in Moldova before establishing himself at Zimbru Chișinău, where his first spell ran from 2013 to 2017. Burghiu helped Zimbru win the Moldovan Cup in 2013–14. He later played for Petrocub Hîncești and spent a period with Zhetysu in Kazakhstan, winning the First Division title in 2017. After returning to Zimbru in 2020, he became an experienced presence and captain of the Chișinău side. At international level, Burghiu made his Moldova debut against Sweden in January 2014 and represented the country in UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying. He subsequently continued his career with Sireți, retaining a defensive role in Moldovan football.
