Sam Beukema

Sam Beukema is a Dutch defender born in Deventer on 17 November 1998. He developed in the youth systems of DSC Diepenveen, Go Ahead Eagles and Twente before making his professional debut for Go Ahead Eagles against Helmond Sport in September 2017. After establishing himself in the Dutch second tier, Beukema made 73 appearances for Go Ahead Eagles across three active seasons. AZ Alkmaar signed him in 2021, giving him his Eredivisie breakthrough and experience in the UEFA Conference League. In July 2023, he moved to Bologna, where his composed defending and progressive passing supported the club’s successful 2023–24 campaign and Champions League qualification. He also belonged to Bologna’s squad that won the Coppa Italia in 2025. Beukema joined Napoli in July 2025 and remains part of the club’s defensive group, combining his 1.88-metre frame with build-up play and positional awareness.
