Stuart Armstrong

Stuart Armstrong is a Scotland international central midfielder from Inverness, known for carrying the ball through midfield and contributing from advanced positions. He developed with Dyce Boys Club and Inverness Caledonian Thistle before joining Dundee United in 2009 and progressing into senior football. At Dundee United, Armstrong established himself as an energetic midfielder and won the SFWA Young Player of the Year award in 2013. He moved to Celtic in 2015, where his running, passing and shooting made him part of the club’s successful domestic era. In 2018, Armstrong joined Southampton and adapted to Premier League football, later also playing in the Championship during a six-year spell. After leaving Southampton, he continued his career with Vancouver Whitecaps before returning to Scotland with Aberdeen. Armstrong made his Scotland debut in 2017, represented the nation at Euro 2020 and Euro 2024, and passed 50 caps in 2024.
