Steven Alzate
Steven Alzate is a Colombian international midfielder born in London on 8 September 1998. He developed at Leyton Orient, making his senior debut in 2017 and scoring in his second appearance against Newport County. Brighton signed him in July 2017, and after a season with their under-23s he joined Swindon Town on loan for 2018–19. Alzate returned to Brighton and made his Premier League debut in September 2019, while Graham Potter used him as a central midfielder, defensive pivot and wing-back. He scored Brighton’s winner in the 1–0 victory at Liverpool in February 2021 and also featured in the comeback win over Manchester City that May. Two loan spells at Standard Liège from 2022 to 2024 brought regular Belgian football before a brief Hull City stint. Alzate subsequently moved to Atlanta United, while his Colombia debut came in 2019.
