Salim Akkal

Salim Akkal is a French midfielder born on 17 February 2000. He developed in the Paris region before joining Angers’ academy in January 2016, where he continued his education within a professional club. Akkal also represented France at under-18 level, marking his progression from youth football into the national setup. He spent much of his early senior development with Angers’ reserve side, gaining experience in France’s lower divisions. A spell with USM Alger in 2020 broadened his club experience before he later played for Nîmes Olympique, where he appeared in the Championnat National during the 2024–25 season. Akkal is described as a defensive or central midfielder who protects the back four, circulates possession and helps control tempo. He is currently registered with ES Setif, adding a new chapter to his developing career.
