Rubén Sánchez Sáez

Rubén Sánchez Sáez is a Spanish right-back born in Barcelona on 4 February 2001. He developed at CF Badalona before joining Espanyol’s academy in 2018, progressing to Espanyol B and making his senior-reserve debut in February 2020 against Valencia Mestalla. After signing his first professional contract in July 2021, he made his La Liga debut for Espanyol in a 2–0 win over Cádiz on 18 October that year. An injury-affected 2022–23 campaign coincided with Espanyol’s relegation, prompting a search for regular football away from Cornellà. He spent the 2023–24 season with Mirandés in Segunda División, where he made 21 appearances before Espanyol recalled him in January 2024. Sánchez then joined Granada on loan for 2024–25, recording 32 appearances and one goal during the spell. Primarily a right-back, Rubén Sánchez has also operated higher on the right, offering aerial strength, blocks, direct passing and crossing while improving concentration and accuracy.
