Rafael Romero

Rafael Romero is a Spanish goalkeeper born in Jerez de la Frontera on 7 August 2003. He developed within Sevilla’s system and progressed through Sevilla III to Sevilla Atlético, the club’s reserve side. Romero established himself in the reserve setup in the Primera Federación, gaining regular competitive experience during the 2024/25 season. His performances also brought selection to several Sevilla first-team matchday squads in La Liga, although he was still awaiting his senior debut in the available record. On 13 February 2025, Sevilla extended Romero’s contract until 30 June 2027. At 192 centimetres, Rafael Romero offers a strong physical presence in goal and has been described as comfortable distributing from the back. His pathway from Sevilla’s lower teams to first-team involvement places him among the club’s developing goalkeeping options.
