Róbert Orri Þorkelsson

Róbert Orri Þorkelsson is an Icelandic centre-back born in Reykjavík on 3 April 2002. He developed in Iceland before joining Breiðablik in February 2020, stepping into top-flight football as a teenager and helping the club qualify for European competition. In June 2021, Þorkelsson moved to CF Montréal, where he made his professional debut in a CONCACAF Champions League match against Cruz Azul in March 2022. The 188-centimetre defender later spent time on loan in Norway before returning to Iceland. In 2025, he joined Víkingur Reykjavík and became part of the team’s defensive group during its European qualifying campaign. Þorkelsson has also represented Iceland from under-16 through under-21 level and made his senior international debut in 2022. He is a centre-back who contributes to build-up play through passing, positioning and disciplined defensive work.
