Robin Zentner

Robin Zentner is a German goalkeeper who has spent his senior career with FSV Mainz 05. Born in Rüdesheim am Rhein on October 28, 1994, he began at SpVgg Eltville before joining Mainz’s youth academy in 2006. He developed with Mainz 05 II from 2012 to 2015, making 36 appearances, and entered the senior squad as a third-choice goalkeeper in 2014. Seeking regular first-team football, Mainz loaned him to Holstein Kiel in 2015, where he made 26 appearances over two seasons. After returning to Mainz, Zentner made his first competitive senior start in an October 2017 DFB-Pokal match against his former loan club. He later competed with fellow academy graduate Florian Müller for the starting role, eventually becoming Mainz’s primary goalkeeper in late 2019. A cruciate ligament injury in March 2020 interrupted that progression, but Zentner subsequently continued to represent Mainz and surpassed 200 appearances for the club by 2025.
