Rodrigo Zalazar Martínez

Rodrigo Zalazar Martínez is a Uruguayan central midfielder born in Albacete, Spain, on 12 August 1999. He developed at Albacete Balompié before joining Málaga CF in 2015, where registration and contractual issues delayed his route to senior football. In 2019, Zalazar signed for Eintracht Frankfurt and began building experience through loans, including spells with Korona Kielce and FC St. Pauli. His most prominent German chapter came at FC Schalke 04, where he featured during the club’s 2021–22 promotion campaign. Zalazar later continued his career with SC Braga, combining midfield work with forward runs and creative passing. He chose Uruguay internationally and made his senior debut in June 2023, scoring twice in a 4–1 win over Nicaragua. Now listed with Sporting CP, Rodrigo Zalazar brings experience from Spain, Germany and Portugal to the central midfield role.
