Roberts Savaļnieks
Roberts Savaļnieks is a Latvian right-back born in Valmiera on 4 February 1993. He developed at Liepājas Metalurgs, made his senior debut in 2009, and became a regular starter by 2012. In January 2014, Savaļnieks moved to Jagiellonia Białystok, making three league appearances before returning to Latvia and joining FK Liepāja later that year. He helped FK Liepāja win the Virsliga title in 2015, then played for Riga FC before joining RFS in 2017. After returning to Liepāja in 2022, he rejoined RFS in 2023 and contributed to league titles in 2023 and 2024. Savaļnieks made his Latvia debut against Slovakia in 2016 and scored his first international goal against Turkey in a 3–3 draw in 2021, while his crossing and set-piece delivery remain important features of his game.
