Robin Roefs

Robin Roefs is a Dutch goalkeeper born in Heeswijk on 17 January 2003. He began at VV Heeswijk in 2009 before joining NEC Nijmegen’s academy in 2014. At NEC, he progressed through the youth teams and recorded 57 appearances from under-17 to under-21 level. Roefs made his professional debut for NEC in September 2023, replacing Jasper Cillessen against FC Utrecht and helping secure a 3–0 victory. He made his first start the following week against Vitesse. During 2024–25, Roefs became NEC’s regular goalkeeper, making 33 appearances and keeping 10 clean sheets as the club finished eighth and qualified for the Conference League. He joined Sunderland in August 2025 and is also part of the Netherlands setup, having represented the country from under-16 to under-21 level.
