Ryan Thomas Porteous
Ryan Thomas Porteous is a Scottish centre-back born in Dalkeith on 25 March 1999. He developed with Edina Hibs and Aberdeen before returning to Hibernian, and he also gained early senior experience on loan at Edinburgh City in 2016–17. Porteous made his Hibernian debut in July 2017, becoming an important defender as the club reached the 2021 Scottish Cup final and finished third in the 2020–21 Scottish Premiership. He made his Scotland debut against Ukraine in September 2022, playing the full match as Scotland secured Nations League promotion. In January 2023, Porteous moved to Watford, where he scored on his debut against Reading. After a loan spell with Preston North End, he joined Los Angeles FC in August 2025. Standing 1.88 metres tall, Porteous combines physical defending with progressive passing.
